About the role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is an active, field-oriented sales professional responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing B2B sales opportunities across our IT Solutions, Telecommunications Infrastructure, and Solar Energy project lines.
Reporting directly to the Head of Business Development, this role focuses on individual quota achievement—building a healthy sales pipeline, conducting technical-commercial discovery, delivering pitches, and closing deals with enterprise clients, telecom operators (MNOs), tower companies (TowerCos), and commercial/industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation, Prospecting & Field Work
- Map target markets and proactively generate new B2B leads across telecom site operators, real estate developers, manufacturing plants, data centers, and enterprise accounts.
- Conduct direct outreach, field discovery visits, and meetings with operational decision-makers (Facility Managers, Procurement Officers, IT Leads, and Site Engineers).
- Identify cross-selling opportunities (e.g., pitching telecom tower solarization to existing connectivity clients, or enterprise IT solutions to commercial solar clients).
2. Proposal Preparation & Pitching
- Work closely with internal pre-sales engineers and technical leads to conduct site assessments and gather requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive technical-commercial proposals, financial payback/ROI models, and total cost of ownership (TCO) comparisons.
- Lead bid submissions for RFPs, RFQs, and competitive tenders involving telecom power retrofits, solar EPC/PPA agreements, and enterprise IT/network setups.
3. Deal Execution & Account Management
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing and project kickoff.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing schedules, and service level agreements (SLAs) within predefined margin limits set by leadership.
- Act as the primary point of contact during the sales transition, ensuring seamless handoff to Project Management and Operations teams.
- Nurture existing client accounts to secure repeat business, upselling, and long-term contract renewals.
4. Pipeline & CRM Management
- Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene by logging all client interactions, opportunity stages, meeting notes, and deal values.
- Provide accurate weekly and monthly individual sales forecasts to the Head of Business Development.
